David WerbaDavid Werba – Web Dev, Media Host, Editor-in-chief

David was raised within crawling distance of a gorgeous Steinway Grand piano, and he began tickling the keys at age 5. He learned trumpet in grade school, picked up guitar in high school, and later added drums, bass, and synth to his repertoire. While attending University of Illinois, he started his first band with a group of friends called Nurse Rick.

David started touring and recording albums in college, and after graduation he moved to Chicago in 1995. By the time he retired from live performance in 2002, David performed as the lead guitarist/composer in 5 notable Midwestern bands with varying genres of Jazz, Blues, Rock, Pop, Folk, Alternative, and Comedy. During this time he played over 800 live shows, recorded 23 albums, and signed with both Indie and Major labels. He also opened for some legendary groups such as Flaming Lips, World Party, Social Distortion, Dave Mason, and even Vanilla Ice! Another career highlight was becoming one of the first house bands on the Jenny Jones Show in the late 1990’s.

After moving to Phoenix, AZ, in 2002 David quickly co-founded MusicForte (MF) – an Indie Artist storefront site and Social Network that grew to over 110,000 members worldwide. While running MF for the next 9 years and starting his first Indie Music podcast, he released 2 albums under the name Mr. Rose – a solo project where David sang and played/recorded all the instruments.

PODCASTING. Since 2009 David has produced and co-hosted 3 podcasts – Music Forte Radio, The Fundamental Escape, and currently Indie Music Plus. Covering a wide range of topics from music to comedy to spirituality, he had the pleasure of working with some very well known guests. In early 2012, David completed a 3-year project with Television/Media conglomerate Nexstar Broadcasting Group, where he worked as a marketing consultant, web developer, and producer of both local and national TV shows for FOX and NBC. In addition to his work with Indie Music Plus, David is the Owner/President of Werbonics Consulting, Founder of 1WorldNow Media, the Founder/Editor of Strange Human Network, Growth Hacker at Musicoin Foundation, and Lead Developer for a group of non-profit organizations under development.
