Just Micci – Featured Artist

Just MicciJust Micci, pronounced “Mickey”, is an artist from Canada that caught our attention and we just had to feature. I first discovered Micci on Facebook Live one day after she had submitted and I was hooked. Her style is reminiscent to me of Ani DiFranco and Tori Amos. Basically, if you’re into simplistic folk-styled music with female vocals you’re going to love Just Micci.

Based in Nova Scotia she is bilingual, and luckily she spoke English for us lol! She’s working on a new album and I think her videos are really unique and cool. She’s young but has experimented deeply with music so far in her life. She recently realized that she wants her music to focus more on her lyrics and let the music change with her tastes. She dubs her music “anti-folk” which I think is a perfect explanation.

Micci started music early in life thanks to her mother being a piano teacher. She’s been playing piano since the age of 3 or 4 and Micci’s brother was also a musician who she followed closely for years. I’m sure her brother is great, but I’m super happy that she has ventured out on her own musical exploration. She jokingly states in one of her blogs that she “writes songs better than talking.” Let’s just say that we’re all impressed with her here at Indie Music Plus. Be on the lookout for Just Micci on upcoming episodes of Indie Music LIVE! and watch out for new music from this young starlet. I’m excited and eager to see where her career will take her!

I’m curious to know what YOU think about the music of Just Micci! Get in touch on social media and let me know. Also, let Just Micci know that you heard her music here first on Indie Music Plus. As always, thank you for reading and continuing to support indie music of all genres!
