We recently featured a guy named Luis Oliart on Indie Music LIVE. He’s a singer, songwriter, guitarist, producer, composer and teacher from Southern California and man does he rock. Luis has been around the musical block. He’s not only a stellar musician, he’s also an overall good dude.
Luis has amassed quite a skill set over his lifetime. He also acts, writes compositions for movies, and is very active in helping hurting children heal through the power of music thru The Art of Elysium, a non-profit organization that encourages working actors, artists and musicians to dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions. He volunteers at the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry as well, and he serves on its Board of Representatives. Honestly, this entire write-up could be just naming all of his credentials, ha! I encourage you to learn more about him at his website.
If you’ve been following our website for the past 2 years, you know that we only feature the ‘best of the best’ indie musicians that we come across. We believe that if an artist (regardless of genre) has a quality product and are active in the industry, then they deserve to be highlighted and promoted. However, if the artist takes things to the next level and proves they are setting the bar higher, then they get bumped up to a featured artist. So again this is the story with Luis Oliart.
His music is authentic. Blues, Rock, Funk/Jazz and more can be heard in his influences. Luis not only writes music under his own name but also plays with a band carrying his name, Luis Oliart & The Hinges. Luis Oliart is a musician of musicians and I can see him continuing his career for the indefinite future. If you’re into top notch songwriting and mature, thought-provoking guitar playing then Luis is your guy. I encourage you to reach out and let him know what YOU think of his music. As always thanks for reading and keep supporting Indie Music!
