Madelyn Victoria – Hold On – Review

Madelyn VictoriaWhile Madelyn Victoria describes her music as Neo-Traditional country, I call her voice and music “classic.” Timelessly classic in fact. Wow, this girl is really good and she’s just released a new single. In my opinion, she stands right up there with some of the best female country singers on the circuit today. She just released a new single called “Hold On” so let’s get into it.

Madelyn Victoria – Hold On

It seems like the country kids are coming out to play in the last couple of reviews here on Indie Music Plus and here comes another member of the deep South Texas club. You know, country music is not my forte, however I grew up around it and I know a great country artist when I hear one. Madelyn is no exception.

First off, I absolutely love the intro. You can always grab my interest by using a lo-fi record scratcher intro. Again, this is no exception, when the music kicks in it is exciting! Minor chord progressions don’t always have to be sad. In fact, I get happy when I hear rootsy-minory chord progressions. And, like I said before, Madelyn’s vocals are truly classic. She has that signature twang for sure. Seriously, have a listen and tell me how she can’t hang with the best in the genre today.

Another thing I really like about this recording is that I can tell there are only enhancing effects on her vocals. Meaning, no auto-tune and it truly sounds like her voice. Of course, all vocal recordings are going to get some help from the mixing engineer, but Madelyn’s vocals on this track sound amazing. Madelyn’s sound is pretty much what I do like when listening to country music. Original. Classic. Real. I encourage you to check out this new single and like her on Facebook.

I’m curious to know what YOU think about the music of Madelyn Victoria. Hit me up on social media and let me know. Also, let Madelyn know that you heard her music here first on Indie Music Plus! As always, thank you for reading and continuing to support indie music of all genres!
