Matt Westin – Farm Town – Review

Matt Westin - Farm TownMatt Westin is a Country Western singer trying to make his name among countless other artists trying to do exactly the same thing. We’ve reviewed Matt’s music before here. He has recently released a new single “Farm Town” and I’m going to tell you why it’s his best single yet.

Matt Westin – Farm Town

I have a love/hate relationship with country music. I love to hate it, ha! Seriously though, I really like old school country. Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Patsy Cline, etc.  Being somewhat of a country boy myself having grown up in Indiana corn country, I also have had tons of experience with the new style country music. I appreciate current popular country artists that keep their music country. I’m not into Taylor Swift or any other artists like that who mix their genres when they first come out to please anyone and everyone, and then choose their genre depending on which single is more successful.

I do love me a good Garth Brooks song too. What I like about Matt is that he’s all country. You don’t doubt it, and neither does he. In fact his new single “Farm Town” is probably his best single I’ve heard so far. The last review we did I was a little rough on Matt in certain parts. With this new single? I think it’s great! The overall production is much better from the other single we reviewed and I think Matt is finding his voice much more with this one as well.

Also, this single is very catchy. I’m sure that country boys all over the nation can get behind lyrics such as “Shine up the boots, we’re gonna cut loose” and “Our roots run deep like the crops we grow, yea we feed America row by row.” Matt’s music is starting to grow on me even as I’m writing this.

I’m curious to know what YOU think about the music of Matt Westin. Get in touch on social media and let me know! Also, let Matt know you heard his music here FIRST on Indie Music Plus! As always, thank you for reading and continuing to support indie music of all genres!
