Trevor Heaslip – Nothing To Say – Review

Trevor HeaslipTrevor Heaslip was once a part of the Ontario-based band Shavings 57, but other than that there’s not much to find online about this guy! Literally the only “about” bio I can find about him is on his Facebook page which states “After years of working on the genre-defying solo musical project Shavings 57, Ontario-based musician and songwriter Trevor Heaslip decided that he needed an additional outlet to explore his other musical writing interests. With the early 2018 release of his debut single “Nothing To Say” he kicks off a more straight-forward rock project under his own name.”

Trevor Heaslip – Nothing To Say

My initial impression of his new single “Nothing To Say” is good! I have something good to say! Trevor has a great guitar tone and the production on the recording is pretty good! As far as I can tell Trevor is definitely headed in the right direction. I really like the main riff to the song that starts things out. Trevor is clearly a good guitar player and uses his playing creatively. I think it’s great that Trevor has stepped out on his own to explore his sound further. Having said that, it’s hard to tell exactly where he’s going with it since he has only released one song!

I highly encourage Trevor to come out with MORE music whether it be a single or EP or whatever ASAP!! I know from experience that it’s hard to keep the listener’s attention with only one song. Having said that, he sure did pick a great song to start with, that’s obvious to me. And also, this guy is talented so I would imagine he could gain some long term fans with just this single alone. One of the things that stands out to me other than the guitar work is the harmony’s in the background vocals, well done.

I want to know what YOU think about the new single by Trevor Heaslip and I’m sure he does to! Get in touch with him on social media and let him know you heard his music here first on Indie Music Plus! As always, thank you for reading and continuing to support indie music of all genres!
