Camovement – Featured Artist

CamovementCamovement is an artist from Chicago. When I say “artist” I am using it to its full meaning when it comes to Cam. He’s a videographer, producer, photographer, musician…you name it! This dude is seriously impressive and I wouldn’t expect anything less from Chi-town. We recently had Cam on our weekly live-stream #IndieMusicLIVE and got to know him a little bit.

Cam has interviewed and documented iconic artists such as Maya Angelou, Lauryn Hill, Common, Theaster Gates, Questlove and more. One of his main passions is videography and he’s even won an Emmy for a locally produced segment. Cam considers himself a renaissance man who likes to do a bit of everything. What’s really cool about Cam is that he’s not just music, it’s just another form of expression for him. And I have to add, he performs ALL of his expressions at a very high level.

Cam moves between mediums to explore and create his artistic ideas. He’s even had his album playing in the background while presenting one of his art exhibits. As Dave says, “He’s an accomplished figure within his art.” I happen to agree! Currently he is paying his bills by editing video for movies and television. I can relate to Cam in his drive to keep his income and work all art/music related. Currently, Cam Be is working on a documentary titled “Project: Building Hope” which was a part of Kartemquin’s Diverse Voices in Docs Program.

I’m curious to know what YOU think about Cam, his music, and all his art forms. Make sure to get in touch on social media and let me know! Also, make sure to let Cam know that you heard his music here first on Indie Music Plus! As always, thank you for reading and continuing to support indie music of all genres!
