Dark Avenue – Featured Artist

Dark AvenueDark Avenue has only been around a short while as a band but they are making HUGE strides that most bands only hope to accomplish. Choosing this band for a feature on our wonderful and growing website was a no brainer! It’s been fun to watch them grow up over the past few months. These guys aren’t a bunch of youngsters however. Dark Avenue is a seasoned group of individuals that collective come together to create a unique hard rock sound that you’re going to love!

I had the pleasure of meeting 2 of the members where I found out more about them, their music and their new album Illusions. I was lucky to get some time with the band as they were preparing for their cd release party the next night and our interview was the day of the release! Barry (guitar) and Mario (vocals) gave me some insight into how the band works. You can watch the video below.

Dark Avenue

When the band started they were invited to SXSW but had to hurry up and write enough material to actually perform! After their performance they decided they should take a closer look at what they had as a band. They pursued it further and what has resulted is nothing less than magical.

The sound that Dark Avenue creates is sweet to the ears of any fan of rock/metal looking for something fresh and new. Dark Avenue’s music can be described as well trained bilingual vocals complimented by a solid rhythm section and coupled guitar intelligent riffs. The band sits in each others pockets perfectly.

I encourage you to take a few and check out the new full length album by Dark Avenue entitled Illusions. If you like melodic hard rock with heavy guitars solid guitars this group is for you.
