Fintan McKahey is a musician from Ireland that we’ve had the pleasure of connecting with and reviewing over the past years. Check out his review HERE that we did a while back. Well, he has returned with a new project called God Games and I’m personally digging it and I’m going to explain why you will too.
Fintan McKahey – God Games
Fintan’s music has really struck a chord with me this time. I truly enjoy his alt percussive folk sound. His vocals are genuine and his lyrics have meaning. In the other single he sent for review, “Cultural Trance”, I hear much of the same vibe coupled with more rhythm and groove than the title track “God Games”. At first, I wasn’t sure about the saxophone, but after a few listens I changed my mind and I actually think it adds a lot to the overall sound. I really dig the general vibe of both of these tunes and I’m seriously impressed with Fintan’s growth as an artist over the past few years.
“Fintan: Genesis Of An Artist” which is a short film by Stephen Bean, documenting the process involved in creating Fintan McKahey’s new record God Games. I love the place we have all reached in the Indie Music world where song videos have become the norm. Even just 5 years ago it doesn’t compare to where we are today collectively as artists. Fintan’s video above takes it to yet another level with a more intimate documentary style where the viewer gets a much better feel for Fintan’s style and personality. Kudos to Fintan and Stephen!
