Remotejazz is the brainchild of accomplished indie musician Robert Bryant out of Maryland. We’ve reviewed his music before and had him as a featured artist a few years back. Well, he’s back with a new album and single “No Questions Asked.” It’s a full-length album but let’s talk about the single…
Remotejazz – No Questions Asked
Robert Bryant has outdone himself on this new release. In the past, I may have ragged on him a bit about some of his mixes being a little too compressed. Not so with this one. The overall sound is pro and certainly more organic than in previous releases. These kinds of changes and improvements can make all the difference for indie music no matter the genre. In “No Questions Asked” the song basically runs the same groove thru a few different solos, but it’s easy to groove to and easy to listen to.
The musicianship on this single (and album) is amazing, and it’s something you can always expect with this project. The groovalicious beat and bed tracks provide the perfect foundation for some amazing solos. Again, the production is spot on. This single could go far in the smooth jazz circuit. It easily competes with anything else on mainstream radio. It’s not surprising that Remotejazz already has had some success on indie internet stations. I think it’s just a matter of the ‘right time and place’ situation for things to click with Robert’s music and really take off.
Remotejazz has been around for quite a few years now and it seems like he’s not stopping anytime soon. If you haven’t checked out Robert Bryant’s music it’s never too late! Fans of groove and smooth jazz will not be disappointed. Over the past few years, it’s been great to watch the progression of this artist and he’s not done by any means. Fans who are hungry for new music should pay attention to Remotejazz as he consistently releases new music. Personally, I always look forward to new Remotejazz!
