I think I was a little harsh on Stefano in my last review. I may have mentioned that I thought the song was a “little too sequenced” sounding, meaning it was a little stiff. Well, with this new single “Changes” I have nothing but good things to say! Stefano has really nailed it with this song.
It’s groovy, it’s warm sounding, and feels like a real band playing together. The groove holds back for the first section of the track but lets the keyboards and synths carry the main haul setting up the listener for when it comes together later with more of a drum beat. The touch of vocals adds for some nice ambiance. I am also fond of how it builds over time into a solid musical idea. Another positive is that it’s not too long. I enjoy short and to-the-point songs.
Even tho the song starts out sort of sparse by the end of the tune my head is bobbing. I still think that some more organic drum sounds would really bring Stefano’s EDM/Jazz sound to a new level. I’m not talking about full drum tracks necessarily, but maybe just samples of real drum beats.
I truly enjoyed this new track by Stefano Pesapane! He plays around locally in the Netherlands and is currently releasing singles exclusively on Bentley records.
